Getting Your Message Across

Discover strategies to think clearly under pressure and leave with the tools to express yourself effectively in the speaking scenarios that matter most.

Speaking is supposed to feel good. Most of the time it does. But when we feel pressure, it suddenly feels difficult, complicated, and uncomfortable. But it doesn’t have to remain that way. In this workshop, Michael Gendler, founder of Ultraspeaking, will demonstrate techniques that design professionals can use to handle pressure and improve on-the-fly speaking skills.

Through live coaching and interactive games, you will discover new techniques to clearly express your thoughts and confidently present your ideas in the situations that matter most.

You will learn alongside volunteers without the pressure of needing to perform on-the-spot. Through games and experiential learning, you will discover strategies to think clearly under pressure and leave with the tools to express yourself effectively in the speaking scenarios that matter most.

In celebration of our partnership with Ultraspeaking, we’re thrilled to offer workshop pricing that was originally $200 for just $55 for our community!

Topics will include the following:

Where does confidence come from?
Confidence is a feeling that anyone can access. But under pressure, that access tends to disappear. In this session, we learn different ways to recover our confidence and speak more easily by practicing the habits of staying in character and ending strong.

How to develop executive presence.
What is executive presence? It’s a feeling of un-hurriedness, a relaxed confidence, a sense of ease with yourself and with others. This session will cover different tools for achieving greater sense of calm and control in high-stakes scenarios.

How to speak so people listen.
People who are dynamic and engaging speak with musicality. Musicality is about energy – and learning to contrast your speed, volume, and emotion to bring more impact to your words. This session will showcase easy ways to make musicality a natural part of your communication style.

How to get to the point.
People tend to forget most of what you say. That’s why it’s so critical to decide on the one thing you want your audience to remember. In this session, we learn how to recognize rambling, simplify your message, and speak with greater clarity.
