Building Community Power

AIGA empowers designers to be more vocal citizens. Designers empower nonprofit, community groups and activists on the ground to be more effective in their communications, outreach and ultimate impact. Design Pavilion NYC presents a selection of AIGA’s digital messages and graphics selected by a reputed jury from a submission gallery open to all, on Times Square–super-sized NASDAQ digital screens, marquee and tower included. Come see the winners at 4:20pm on May 15, in a 10-minute viewing on the NASDAQ 7-story tower.

Join AIGA for a panel on what it takes to Build Community Power. We will discuss design-led community engagement strategies to mobilize citizens to better understand their place and role in communities. We’ll use the case study of the work in progress collaboration between our New York chapter and Community VOTE, a civic anchor of Nonprofit VOTE, AIGA’s national partner on this initiative.

This project is supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts
