Join Emily Collins, Mercy Lomelin, Kelli Miller, Heather Seidel, Jules Verardi, JungIn Chloé Yun, and moderator Dorca Musseb for a powerful, honest, and inspiring panel discussion featuring these powerhouse leaders shaping the motion design and animation industry. From candid stories behind their favorite projects to actionable advice on leadership, hiring, collaboration, and self-care—this conversation will center vulnerability without losing momentum.

Panelists

Emily Collins

Emily (she/her) is the co-founder of Mighty Oak, an award-winning, women and queer-owned animation studio in NYC. With over 15 years in the industry, she specializes in producing and developing stop motion, 2D, and mixed media animation, creating content for brands and major platforms like Netflix and HBO. A graduate of RISD and Hunter College, Emily is committed to nurturing collaboration and creativity—both at Mighty Oak and within the broader animation and documentary communities. Her past work includes teaching animation to teens and showcasing films at international festivals. Outside of work, she enjoys drawing, and time with her kooky kids and cat. IG: @mightyoakgrows

Mercy Lomelin

Mercy (they/them) is the Head of 2D at BUCK NY, where they lead with care, strategy, and a commitment to craft. At BUCK, Mercy supports the creative and cultural health of the 2D department. They focus on shaping workflows, mentoring artists, and building a team environment where animators can grow and do their best work. They began their career as a motion designer at Dress Code NY and have since collaborated with studios including Slanted, Gunner, Hornet, and Friendship Park, as well as teams at Google Creative Lab. Mercy’s animation and illustration work has been recognized by Art of the Title, Adobe, Motionographer, and Vimeo Staff Picks. Their work has also been screened on the StandardVision billboard in Los Angeles and at One World Trade Center. Mercy has participated in portfolio reviews and mentorship programs with SCAD, SVA, and RISD. They believe deeply in animation as both a craft and a community.

Kelli Miller

Kelli Miller is a Partner, Director and Executive Creative Director at And/Or Studio. Kelli has worked in motion design and branding for over 15 years with entertainment networks and brands like HBO, MTV, Netflix, Amazon, and CBS. She has directed show titles and live action packaging for Netflix’s White Hot, FX’s CAKE, HBO’s Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, and Paramount’s Lip Sync Battle, and film titles for Kelly Reichardt’s Certain Women, Rhys Ernst’s ADAM, and 2020 Sundance selections Kitty Green’s The Assistant and Eliza Hittman’s Never, Rarely, Sometimes, Always and Mariama Diallo’s Master. Her commercial directing experience includes branded films and commercials for CBS, Paramount, Spotify,Clean & Clear, and TOMS, as well as music videos for the bands Deidre & The Dark and Posse.

Heather Seidel

Heather is a New York–based Associate Motion Director with a longtime focus on storytelling through motion, design, and video. With roots in journalism for leading publications, she’s gone on to create high-impact work for clients like Google, Paramount, and more. When she’s not working, she finds joy in indoor cycling, brewing the perfect cup of tea, and fiercely competitive board game nights.

Jules Verardi

Jules has 19 years of experience in multi-platform motion graphics, branding and graphic design. She has served as an art director for Comedy Central, Vice, and Creative Mammals. Currently, she operates her own business, Crown Jules, where she works independently and leads a team. She is perhaps most recognized for her collaboration with Mike Perry and Comedy Central on the marketing and show openings for all five seasons of Broad City. Her present clientele and projects include Champion Turf for Netflix’s Ronny Chieng stand-up special, Butcher Bird for John Mulaney Presents: Everybody’s in LA, Matte for New Balance, Urban Decay, Hotel W, and Sibling Rivalry for Goop. Additionally, she has dedicated six years to teaching at the School of Visual Arts and Parsons The New School for Design, instructing a class of over 15 students in motion graphics and design.

During her tenure at Comedy Central, she directed shoots featuring Amy Schumer and was interviewed by Art of the Title regarding the Broad City show openings. She has received gold and silver awards at Promax BDA for her work on Broad City, Inside Amy Schumer, Roast of James Franco, and Roast of Rob Lowe, as well as the Cannes Lion Grand Prix for Outdoor Immersive Experiences for The Daily Show. Furthermore, she has been featured multiple times in The Daily Brief and Motionographer for her contributions to motion graphics and art direction.

She’s a native New Yorker who can quote both the Simpsons and Seinfeld at a moment’s notice, Jules has called the West Village home for over a decade, and lives there currently with her partner and playful pug, Prudence.

JungIn Chloe Yun

JungIn Chloe is an Emmy Award–winning art director, illustrator, and motion graphics designer based in New York. She’s currently a Design Director at Nickelodeon/Paramount Global, where she leads the Nick Jr. brand creative marketing team, bringing visual storytelling to life across preschool content. She has also taught a senior motion graphics portfolio at the School of Visual Arts, where she’s passionate about helping students shape expressive, thoughtful work—from concept to final animation. Mentoring emerging creatives is one of the most rewarding parts of her work. Outside of design, you’ll find her baking pastries, decorating cookies, making sugar flowers, or dreaming up a children’s book. She also loves the tactile joy of traditional printmaking—woodcut, silkscreen, letterpress, and embroidery.

About Panimation



Panimation NYC: Founded in London in 2015 by 3 friends looking to connect in a male-heavy industry, Panimation quickly became a growing community within Motion Graphics. In 2017, Emily Suvanvej and Dorca Musseb co-founded the Panimation NYC Chapter. What started out as a brunch with 7 folks grew into a community of over 400 women, trans and non-binary friends connecting & highlighting the art, animation and accomplishments of those underreppresented across NYC Motion Graphics.
