Designing the Black Box
Lessons from a Decade of Designing AI

Barron Webster on what it really takes to design with intelligent systems.

As AI becomes deeply embedded in the products and platforms we use every day, designers are being asked to work with systems that are complex, unpredictable, and constantly evolving. How do you design for something you can’t fully see or control?

Join Figma designer Barron Webster, as he shares lessons from more than a decade of working at the intersection of design, machine learning, and emerging technology. Drawing from real-world projects across industries, Barron will unpack what’s worked, what hasn’t, and what he wishes he’d known earlier in his career.

Whether you’re actively designing AI-powered tools or just beginning to explore the space, this talk offers rare insight into how thoughtful design can shape and humanize even the most complex systems.
