<i>Fresh Dialogue Four</i> brings together the work of three young and innovative graphic designers who have been selected as participants in the &ldquo;Fresh Dialogue&rdquo; series by the New York Chapter of the AIGA. Taking the word &ldquo;spine&rdquo; as its theme, the book examines the worlds of publishing and self-publishing from the perspective of the graphic designer. <i>Fresh Dialogue Four</i> coaxes the inner thoughts, struggles, and insights of these emerging leaders of the design world. Jason Fulford is a photographer, graphic designer, and publisher. He is the cofounder of the non-profit imprint J&amp;L Books. Peter Buchanan-Smith is an art director, graphic designer, author of <i>Speck</i>, and publisher of <i>The Ganzfeld</i> magazine. He is the former art director of the <i>New York Times</i> Op-Ed page, and cofounded the design firm and publishing company Monday Morning. Leanne Shapton is an illustrator, art director, graphic designer, and publisher. She art-directed the Arts and Life section of the Canadian newspaper <i>National Post</i>, and is cofounder of J&amp;L Books.<br /><br /> Veronique Vienne writes about design, fashion, and cultural trends for magazines such as <i>Martha Stewart Living</i>, <i>Town &amp; Country</i>, <i>House and Garden</i>, and more.
