1. The One Show Creative Week
The preeminent festival showcasing the intersection of advertising, innovation and creative thinking. Home to The One Show, Young Ones Competition, The One Show Creative Summit and networking and learning events that highlight the power of creativity.

2. Gowanus, Brooklyn’s Curious Canal
The Gowanus Canal of contemporary Brooklyn invokes notions of seedy crime, toxic sewage, and abandoned industry, but the area has not always been defined by such conditions. Join Joseph Alexiou and Hannah Frishberg, a reporter at the popular Brooklyn-based publication Brownstoner, for a conversation about how gentrification is again transforming this dynamic urban landscape and toxic waste site into a reinvigorated center of post-industrial chic. Reception and book signing to follow.

3. PixelTalks
PixelTalks is for graphic designers, animators, or visual storytellers who wants to network with like-minded creatives and learn about new developments in design.
When: Thursday, May 12, 6:00pm-9:00pm
Where: Contently, 598 Broadway 4th Floor, NYC
Price: Free and open to the public

4. The Building Blocks of Design
At art school, artists and designers are taught about the Elements of Art and the Principles of Design. These are 12 basic building blocks—from color and shape to contrast and harmony—that underscore the production of work across many creative fields. Join MAD educators as they guide visitors through these terms as they relate to the exhibition Studio Job MAD House. Visitors will gain insight into artistic practice, enhancing the viewing experience.

5. Warhol by the Book
Warhol by the Book offers a clarifying look at the transition between Andy Warhol’s first career as a successful illustrator in print media and his second, storied career as a fine artist.
