A participatory design initiative to help three New York City neighborhoods—Red Hook, the Rockaways and Lower Manhattan—imagine a more vibrant future for themselves as they overcome the lingering effects of Superstorm Sandy.

Neighborhood:
Red Hook

The Hub is a strategically located public information system that collects and displays information based on community needs. The Hub will provide different kinds of information in digital and/or analog formats and be mediated by a coalition of designated partners. The Hub will have different functions and forms of administration including curated and non-curated spaces. The Hub is designed to address the community information needs of Red Hook residents and the wider community during crisis and non-crisis conditions. A graphic campaign will support the launch of the Hub.
